A Brief Profile

Sunset Park Public School is located at the south end of North Bay. It is a dynamic school that serves over 400 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. Sunset Park is a dual track school offering both English and French Immersion programs.

The staff are "second to none." This dedicated group of professionals deliver an educational program that includes the academic, social, emotional and physical development of every one of their students. This staff is committed to delivering a great extra curricular program. Included are a variety of sporting activities, artistic and creative programs, environmental club, and academic clubs. The Parent/Teacher Handbook outlines all our programs.

Sunset Park is very fortunate to have an effective and committed group of parents on School Council. This group has set goals that have helped develop a positive and supportive environment by initiating programs that recognize good citizenship, the Santa Sale, and a variety of achievement awards for the students. Their mission is "to promote communication, participation and involvement among parents, children, school and community."

We do all we can to ensure students have a successful and positive experience. Sunset Park is a dynamic school that considers itself a community partner where staff, parents, neighbours and community agencies work together to provide for the total welfare of our children.
